Inventory Value on Previous Date?

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 40

Hello,

We are running MS RMS 2.0 for a single store location.

I am trying to find a way to run a report or calculation that will simply show me the inventory value on a specific past date.  We are trying to look at inventory at the last day of every month back to December of 2009. From forum postings it appears that FP 1 has a new report that will allow us to get this data. However,we do not have Feature Pack 1 loaded and I would like to avoid it if possible. It looks like if we do load this we will have to go through a complex fix to get the reports for past data, and we would like to keep the store open for business during this process if possible.

I saw a forum posting that recommended that we run the current inventory value and than run an "item movement history report" for every date for which we want an inventory number, than subtract the two. I am not familiar with the item movement history report.  Can someone please verify that this will get us what we want, and that the reports won't take 1 hour each to process! :) We have about 2600 pos items in stock.

Or is there an easier way to get this data? If there is an easy custom report out there please let me know where.

Thanks,

Jeff

I can provide u with a query that does the job for u but it handles only the quantities without the cost, so it's the inventory (without value) on a previous date.

Thanks for the offer, but we need the quantity and cost so that we can calculate the total value on that given date.

If I am understanding you correctly we would lose all cost data so that won't work for us.

    Thanks though!

Check with RITE www.rite.us as they have some kind of look-back report available.

    Hi Ahmed,

Can you please provide me the query, I am fine without value too.

    Thanks in advance.
