Cascading or referential relationship between 2 entities

We have 5 fields on the Account entity that want to populate and update on Quote records for that Account record it is linked to.  When the Quote record is created, it will populate the fields. However if those field values are changed, it will not update those fields on the Quote record. There is a 1:N Parental relationship from Account to Quote with mappings for each of these fields.  If I try to make an additional referential relationship, I can only chose non-cascading and get the message: "The related entity has already been configured with a parental relationship or a relationship where some relationship behaviors cascade. Select the referential relationship type."

Any ideas on what we are missing to make these fields update on the Quote record when the field is changed on the parent Account record? We use CRM 2013 online  Thanks!

There is no option for on-going update between relationship using either cascade or referential mappings.  The value is set only at the time of the child record creation and copy the data at that time.

Since you are using CRM 2013 - I would look into using Quick View to display the current data from the parent record - this is the best option unless you have to have a "copy" at the child record level.  If that is the case then you need to look at custom development to "sync" the data between parent and related child records.

    Hi AMM,

As per your requirements, i would also say Quick form but for actual meeting your requirements is that a Plugin can do that on change of particular fields.
