Quick Query Labor Hour Masking

Posted on by 35

Hello,

I had a question pertaining to the ability to mask certain data in a quick query so that users cannot see the data. When running the project transactions query I do not want to show the labor hours for employees. Is there anyway to mask this field from showing? I am not opposed to limiting this in other locations within SL either.

Thanks!

Thanks Carolyn! I will try those things out.

    Hi Ben,

You can hide a column, but you would need to save that modified query as a custom query and that doesn't solve your problem in that the original query will still show the labor hours.

For the users that you don't want to have access to the labor information, you could just remove their access rights to the screen that is associated with that query.  You can look in the Query View Catalog Entries screen and see the screen that is associated with that query.  Then go into Access Rights Maintenance and remove that screen from the specific user's rights.

    Does that help?
