Management Reporter Schedule - Base Period

In FRx, you were able to set a schedule for a group of reports, and set the base period for what they generate for.  I no longer see this function in MR?  Do I need to go somewhere else to change this?   I know that changing the default base period within the report itself will work, but i don't want to have to keeping going back to change the base period.

You set the base period on the report definition. Set it to S-1 and it will always run for last period (or S-2 for the period before that).

I know you can do that, but in FRx, you were able to pick which base period to generate for a group of reports.

Let's say i group 4 reports together, have different default base periods, and when I create  a schedule to generate this group, i want to be able to pick a common base period.  You were able to do this in FRx, but not in MR.

In MR, it will use the Report Date. There was a similar suggestion posted out on the Product Suggestion page for MR.

Note you may need to register to see the site, but here's the link:

It doesn't seem like this is a feature that has been requested / suggested, so you can update this posting and vote for the suggestion.

    Hello,

I was just peeking at this and in MR, with RU6 applied, I am able to generate a report group and am prompted for which dates I want applied to the reports.  It would still be a manual generation but it does let you change the dates and generate the group.

When setting a schedule it still appears we need to have the default base periods set accordingly on each report in the group.

    Thanks!

With MR 2012 RU6, they did add some functionality to the Report Groups. One of the features added was the ability to "Override company, detail, and date settings from individual report definitions".

Both videos cover some of the same features, but would be worth a quick review.

I think you have answered my question but I want to be sure.  Are you saying that in order for my 'scheduled' report to update the base period monthly, I need to set the 'default base period to 's-1?  Is this also the case when I send an email link to a report?  The links I sent did not update with the next period. I'm hoping the reason is 'my default base period is not set at S-1.

A link to a report will open the last generated version of the report. Verify that the report was generated for the next period. Using S-1 for a Report Group should generate the report for the prior period based on the system data at the time of generation.
