Link to vendor data from master data

How can I integrate with a vendor. I have created vendors in accounts in master data. I  define a partner with the same id as the vendor in accounts in master data. What should I do next?

If I create products for the vendor, should they have the same IDs than products in the data management. How do partner data relates to data management data ?

I am using fake data for testing purposes so external email invitations cannot be used. I am looking to upload information on admin data and partner data using Excel sheets to see the effect that events have to the supply chain in this environment.

    Overall steps:-

    1) Use demo data for PO, forecast scenario

    2) Contact setup

    3) Create collaboration

    4) Supplier to respond on PO / Forecast Collaboration.

    I am trying to load data in both Master data and Partner data so that I can create a test scenario using fake data. SCC provides the same set of entities for both, master and partner. Can I just populate both master and partner data to perform a link or I need to use the supplier portal to load information (I do not have real companies, this is just made up data).
     
    I think that if I use the same account number in master data as the Id of the vendor when I create a partner I will perform the link. Kindly confirm or correct this assumption. Additionally, how would I map product ids between vendor products in partner data and my own products in master data.
     
    A general explanation on how to relate master data and partner data would be a great help.
