CRM 2013 loading pages very slow

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Hello,

CRM recently upgraded to 2013. The CRM pages are hanging when loading but it is mainly when opening an account record. I have disabled the java script against the page but this made no difference. There are quite a lot of custom fields on the account page but not enough to justify this kind of impact. On opening an account it hangs for about 15 seconds and then finally loads. The only thing that looks relevant is the Business process flow across the top as this is the final thing to load. Anybody have any ideas how I can prove this or is there any tool I can run that would point me to the culprit?

Thanks.

Check the below post that provides ways to optimize form load

    https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/108771.aspx

1.) If this is onPrem, try setting omitVaryStar to true -> crmtipoftheday.com/.../if-form-load-is-slow-take-this-pill

    2.) Enable WCF Compression -> blogs.msdn.com/.../enable-wcf-compression-to-improve-crm-2013-network-performance.aspx

3.) Use Performance Centre (Ctrl+Shift+Q) to find out the source of the bottle necks ->http://www.magnetismsolutions.com/blog/gregolsen/2014/07/21/microsoft-dynamics-crm-performance-center-form-load-analysis

4.) Use Chrome DevTools Network trace to single out the slow requests

    DB Level

1.) Use SQL Server DMVs to isolate expensive queries and analyse whether you can improve performance using indexes -> blog.sqlauthority.com/.../sql-server-find-most-expensive-queries-using-dmv

Common configuration settings for Internet Explorer

Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a web-based application and uses Internet Explorer as the user interface to view, add, or edit information that you’ve stored in the CRM database. Make the following common Internet Explorer configuration settings to optimize your CRM experience.

    Increase concurrent download sessions

By default, Internet Explorer 7 and earlier versions limit the number of files that you can download at a time to two. Internet Explorer 8 limits the number of files that you can download at a time to six.

The Microsoft Dynamics CRM application synchronously requests data to and from the CRM data center. Typically, you can easily exhaust the number of concurrent downloads when you are using CRM. To increase this limit, review KB article 282402: How do I configure Internet Explorer to download more than two files at one time

Increase disk space for temporary Internet files

To make sure that Internet files for Microsoft Dynamics CRM are not being deleted, increase the disk space for temporary Internet files.

    1.    Open Internet Explorer, and on the Tools menu, click or tap Internet Options.

    2.    On the General tab, in the Browsing history section, click or tap Settings.

    3.    Set the Disk space to use field to 350. The default value is 50.

    4.    Click or tap OK, and then click or tap OK again.

    Retain browsing history

To optimize your CRM experience, we recommend that you do not select the option to delete the browsing history when you exit from your browser. If you select this option, it deletes everything marked in your Browsing history settings, such as temporary Internet files, cookies, and history (by default, the check boxes for these options are selected). Deleting your temporary Internet files causes Internet Explorer to cache the files again, and deleting cookies signs you out of CRM.

    1.    Open Internet Explorer, and on the Tools menu, click or tap Internet Options.

    2.    Click or tap the General tab, and in the Browsing history section, make sure that the Delete browsing history on exit check box is cleared.

Hi, thanks for all of these links but we are still no further forward after these suggestions. General navigation and working is fine, it really does seem to be limited to just opening the account form and the form is all there apart from the business process flow bar across the top, this seems to be the individual thing which hangs for 15 seconds. Is there a way to disable this temporarily as it looks like once you have activated it you cannot disable?

Did you try option 3 to look at which request takes long time to receive response ?

Use Performance Centre (Ctrl+Shift+Q) to find out the source of the bottle necks ->www.magnetismsolutions.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-performance-center-form-load-analysis

1984, did you find out the cause to this problem or what did you do to fix the issue?  We are experiencing the exact same conditions.  I've tried everything listed above.  It performs a little better in Chrome than in IE 11 but not much.

    Hi 1984,

Have you verified  the System Jobs (Settings > System Jobs) of your organization?

How many records of System Jobs do you have with "In Waiting" status?

If there a lot of records with this characteristic I suggest to review the dbo.AsyncJobs and its consume of MB or GB.

Also for these kind of record you can apply a Bulk Delete to optimize your organization or also you can delete data (attachments) that is not relevant for the organization and affects the performance of your organization.

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

did you try create a complete new account form from scratch? If you're facing the problem there then it seems to be a little bit more complicated. If it would perform better then the next thing I would try to do is making a copy of the existing account form and delete section by section. Maybe it's possible to find the problem there

The next thing I would try to do is using Fiddler to identify the slow web requests. With Fiddler you should able to find out which request is the problematic one.

Also always very helpful for me is to test the website with different browsers. Sometimes Chrome gives you an error where you do not get one in IE.

    Regards,

    Thomas
