Year End Closing

Hello All,

I have been trying to run the year end closing routinue on a client database but am not getting through.

When i run the routinue, it gives me a message that there are recurring journals yet to be posted (Although there is no journal yet unposted for the year am closing) it ask me do i want to continue and i said yes. it will continue but the year is not closing.

I try the same routinue on same data but on a different SQL database. (I have same data in my office,backed up the data from the client site and restore in my office), run same routinue and the year was closed and also printed out the year end closing report.

What do i need to do, to get it done in my client site.

    Another mystery unsolved!  The best answer is 'it worked'. I love when that happens :)

    There are scripts to run to fix this.  Contact your local VAR or MBS support for help.

    Hi Leslie,

    Thanks for your assistance.

    I tried all you said, but it wasnt still closing, so i try running the year end routinue from the client system and it worked.

    I think you only need to run the Check Links on the Financial Module, the subsidiary modules shouldn't matter. Are they using InterCompany?

    Hmm,

    I would run a checklinks on the transaction files. Does the client have a lot of transactions (because the check links will take longer). When you run the close can you see it check the indexes of the existing accounts? Just so I understand, If you backup the DYNAMICS database and the Company database and then restore it at your office everything works just fine. And it is the same database? This would point to some kind of problem with their installation. hmmm, when you are doing the close is it from a workstation or the server console?

    Hello Leslie,

    I have done all of this checking, and have removed all entiries remaining in the SY00800 and SY00801 in my Dynamics database. There is nothing in batch recovery and there is no records in the SY00500 in the Company Database. Yet the year end is not closing.

    What Else do i need to do?

    With everyone logged off, do you have any entries in the SY0800 or SY0801 tables in your DYNAMICS database? This message is a common one and there should be no problem with closing even with open transactions. Did anything end up in batch recovery? Do you have an unposted entry in GL that looks like it might be the closing entry?

    Obviously something else is going on. Are there any records in the Sy00500 in the Company Database that have a batch status other than 0? If you go to Master Posting, does everything show as Available?

    Just shooting in the dark here.
