Event Add to calendar button caused Medium email spam score

Hello,

I've created Event Registration confirmation message email with Add to calendar button (referencing the Event).

Like it is presented by MS documentation:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/add-to-calendar

Now, I'm having medium Spam Score caused by link that is used for this purpose.

Do you have any suggestion how to handle this? Any experience with using this functionality? Is it safe for usage?

This is the first email that I will sent to the participants (since they would get invitations by partners) and I'm sending email on form submittion in customer journey, so I wouldn't like to end up in a spam folder.

Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

Would you please share your Dynamics spam score details?

    Here are the details:

This email is medium risk. To improve the deliverability, you may consider revising the content and other aspects, especially if you are on the higher end of this range.

    Details:

The hostname has a long, hexadecimal sequence

The hostname has a long, non-vowel sequence

Your message is mostly html/text MIME, but this is common

If I do Save as and delete Add to calendar button - everything is ok (Spam risk - Low).

    Hi,

Please refer to the following documentation to know more about the working mechanism of Spam checker.

Use AI to check your message-content spam score (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

And here is the website about how the scores are generated:

    Apache SpamAssassin: Welcome

    • the email consisting mostly of HTML / text.

Generally, the spam check high score is a result of low text content in addition to other conditions that can be modified to increase the email deliverability.

For example, the original email, which only contains links or QR code, will be scored as high risk.

And I add some text into it. The scores will be lower.

    The issues:

    • The hostname has a long, hexadecimal sequence
    • The hostname has a long, non-vowel sequence

are related to the hostname of the URLs.

Here is a similar issue which you can refer to:

(+) URI hostname has long non-vowel sequence - Dynamics 365 Marketing Forum Community Forum

In other words, if you want to reduce the risk of this type of spam, you need to replace the hostname of the URL in your emails with something that looks more organized, and this also means that you need to try not to use features such as Files within Marketing, which generates URLs with this type of risk.

    Thank you, Nya!

This was very useful - I found the same link when I was discovery this issue at the first place. That's how I recognize that this button (and it's URL) is a problem.

I've tried to put some extra "Lorem Ipsum" text to test your first theory and Spam Score is Low now.
