Low Level code in Manufacturing

Is the Low Level code (LLC) a requirement in deep levels for Bill of Materials in Business Central. BC seems to run fine without it.
We have some deep level whereby there will be up to 10 levels in a Bill of materials. Would it be best to have LLCs utilised in such a case?

Thanks

I think purpose of Low-Level Code (LLC): The LLC helps define the hierarchy of components in a BOM by assigning a "level" to each part or sub-assembly.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

In Business Central, the Low Level Code (LLC) is not strictly required for the system to function, but it plays a crucial role in optimizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and other planning processes. The LLC helps the system understand the hierarchy of items in a Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring that components are planned and processed in the correct order.

For deep levels of BOMs, such as those with up to 10 levels, utilizing LLCs can significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of your planning processes. It ensures that the system correctly identifies the sequence in which items need to be produced or procured, reducing the risk of delays and errors in production.

In summary, while Business Central can run without LLCs, using them is highly beneficial, especially for complex BOMs with multiple levels. It helps streamline your operations and ensures that all components are available when needed.
