I just added two new users to GP 10.0 and when they first login, they have to change their passwords. When they type in the new password, they get the dreaded "GP has to close" message with no other error. I have tried to change their password in SSMS and turn off the required change, but then it will not let them login at all. I am running the GP databases on SQL 2012. All thoughts and suggestions would be welcome.

I guess I can't answer that as it has never been tested so we don't know what issues someone could or would run into.
GP 10 is not supported on SQL 2012 which could be causing your issue especially since the crash happens when changing the password. I would disable the enforce password policies and see if the users can login otherwise you will need to upgrade to a supported version of GP that is compatible with SQL 2012.
