Hi,

I've found a weird behaviour in AX.

Imagine I attach a .jpg document to a record in AX when my default program to open .jpg's is set to "Paint".

I can see the document in the attachment form when I tick the "open" option but when I click "open" I keep getting an error saying that there's no program associated with this document extension. If I do directly to the file and double click on it opens with Paint without any issues.

If I change the association to another program such as "Windows Photo viewer" it works fine and I can open the file within AX.

Is there any problem / conflict between AX and Paint?

Hi Javier

Firstly, check if the file type ( both Jpg and Jpeg) is listed on File Types grid.

Organization administration > Setup > Document management > Document management parameters, File Type Tab.

Finally, try to set again the Windows File Associations with Paint or another program.

Hi Dennis, Thank you for your answer. But yes, the file type exists in the Document Management Parameter and the file is associated with "Paint". If I change this association to any other program works fine but not with Paint

Did anyone ever come up with a fix for this ? Is the default Photo viewer in AX , Windows PhotoViewer ? I am getting the same error and the default file type is associated with Jpegs and JPG is paint .

Hi All,

Please check the setup as per below setup whether it is same in your system or different. Because i am able to open image type jpeg or jpg in my system with this setup. And by default image is opened in Windows Photo Viewer. I am using AX 2012 CU7.

Please let us know with this setup it is working or not.
