I need to set up a "virtual warehouse" within my warehouse that will house salesman samples separate from live inventory. Everything will be kept at the same physical address but I do not want orders to pull salesman sample inventory until I transfer it into live inventory after the salesmen are done with the samples. Can someone help with this?

No limit on Site IDs. Whatever you transfer to Warehouse B will not be available in Warehouse A, regardless of the Quantity Type.

Is there a limit to how many site IDs can be set up in GP? Also, when I transfer them into "warehouse B" as a quantity type does that mean that they are no longer available in "warehouse A" as inventory?

Setup another Site ID for your virtual warehouse and when you transfer sales samples into that warehouse, transfer them in as a Quantity Type other than On Hand. No one will be able to consume them until they're transferred back to an On Hand Quantity type.
