No. Series: "Sequential" vs. "Normal" Implementation

Posted on by 103
Hi:

In the Business Central No. Series screen, what does "Sequential" and "Normal" Implementation mean?

Even if you have the checkbox checked in the No. Series for allowing gaps in numbers, does "Sequential" still prevent Item Journals from being posted if they get out of sequence?

Thanks!

Hi, I think this has something to do with whether Gaps are allowed.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi
I hope this can help you
Normal: Specifies the standard No. Series implementation, which updates the database on every call and uses the table to keep state
Sequence: Specifies the sequence No. Series implementation that does not update the database on every call and uses database sequences to keep state
