GP 2015 is scheduled to be released later this year. There has been no public features released yet. Stay tuned!
I don't know whether this scheduled to be released or not, but I do know that it has been widely requested as you state above. Several months ago the same topic was raised by one of the community members, we opened a case on MS Connect. Check it out Document attach for payroll
Meanwhile, I hope we can get something from MS support engineers.
