So, I got a call from a client today and man were they unhappy.
We did the GP2013 update sometime back and the person who, when on GP10 has moved up the ladder and does not do the data entry any longer, so has not really been paying attention to the system, called and very harshly wondered why I would take away the ability to VOID by Historical Document.
I told (1) I did not write the software, but (2) I am sure that the feature to VOID Historical Documents is still available.
So we looked, and sure, it was right where it always has been.
However, she points out that now you have to select a "SINGLE VENDOR" at a time. Well that sucks completely she says, what happens when I do a check run of 1,000 cheques and for some reason, any reason, they are all wrong, but it is not caught until they are all posted.
Based on this window the user would have to enter each VENDOR ID, select the cheque to VOID and then move onto the next VENDOR. I just looked at my old version, and sure enough, all you need to do to VOID that same 1,000 documents, is enter the starting and ending number and POW you are done.
What a great new "SLOW DOWN" feature - make work project for someone. But, really, this has to be a mistake. There must be an option somewhere to allow the user to MARK a range by DOCUMENT and not give a ripe about what VENDOR it is for.
Help me out and tell me I have the wrong information and that if I were to go to " A different window " or " Select a different configuration option in Payable Setup " that this terrible choice to kill workflow would be gone.
