Error while trying to post Service Order

Hello, I already posted this question before but I couldnt solve the problem.

Im in the middle of implementing Business Central for our company. We decided to use the service module as it fits best for us. Problem is, after I create a Service Order and fill in the costs on the Item Workseet, I cannot post an Invoice.

The error code is: /There is nothing to post because the document does not contain a quantity or amount./

I´ve added a Resource with hours and a cost for travel in the Item worksheet, the error seems inacurate for me.

In another post I´ve been told to ad shipment qty. and price, but those do not show in the service item worksheet or in the service order lines

Every time I´m trying to post in invoice I get this error

Error while trying to post Service Order
The Posting number series you created need to be marked as Default so that it auto-assigns the number during the posting process.  Make sure you do this for the Posted Service Invoices, Posted Service Shipments, and Posted Service Credit Memo series.

Error while trying to post Service Order
The problem was I didn´t check the number serieses as default.

I still get the error when I try to only invoice the service order but the option "Ship and Invoice" works.

    Thanks everyone

Error while trying to post Service Order

Error while trying to post Service Order

The issue is not related to your Service Items, it is related to the Service Order Header.  If the Service Order was created prior to the default number series being defined, it may lack the value needed to complete the posting.  You can use a Config. Package to update the Service Order Header (Field: "Shipping No. Series") OR simply delete and recreate the Service Order (assuming you are in the testing phase).

    Hello,
I deleted and receated the Service Order and I still get the error. I´ve updated the number series on Cronus and tried it out there and even there I still get the error.

every Number Series is filled in

all numbers have a Sarting and Ending value

I´m still getting the same error code when I try to create a invoice

The only other thing I can do is trying to update the number serieses with a config. package, but I dont see why that would be different than updating the values manually

Error while trying to post Service Order
    @Ben Baxter

I updated all No. Series and I still get the error.

The Service Items I use donnot follow the No. Series, we manually insert the Name of the Item for a better overview down the line. Could this be the reason I get the error?

You have not defined the default Number Series to be used when the document is posted.  Go to your Service Management Setup screen and fill in the Numbering Tab.  You'll need to setup the number series behind each of the choices, with Starting numbers.

If you have already updated these values and receiving the error, either delete and recreate your Service Order (assuming still testing) OR use a Config Pack to fill in the header fields with the number series (if live data).  This should move you beyond the error message in your reply.

Error while trying to post Service Order
    Hi,

What option are you trying to use when posting the service order.  In my example I have the following

    Service Item Worksheet

When I select the following post option

Then I get the same error.

But when I use service orders I usually select the following option.

    Which works successfully.

    Hope that helps,
    Shauna
