Mass Customer EMail Settings

Hi

I have a problem with a GP2010 customer at the moment. I have set up their e-mail settings for the company, and have created message headers for Sales and Purchasing.

When i go into the purchasing series to update my Vendors, i go the navigation list and, under the modify section, i have the option to click email settings.

I have set up the sales series exactely the same way, but when i go to do a mass update on the Customer navigation list, the email settings option is simply not there under the modify section.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks

Simon

    Simon,

I just tried a bunch of stuff, including turning off all the e-mail options for Sales under setup, and I still see the E-mail Settings option under Modify on the Customers navigation list.  Do you have that little double arrow icon on the right side of the Modify section on the toolbar at all?  Something else to try is to make the GP window pretty narrow, so that no options show on the Modify section and there is just a dropdown arrow - when I do this and click on Modify, E-mail Settings is the last choice.

If you're still not seeing it, can you log into GP with a user who is a POWERUSER to rule out a permissions issue?

    Hi Victoria

I do not have the double arrow in my navigation list for customers. I tried narrowing my GP screen and still didn't have it in the list.

I have also tried logging in as a POWERUSER and even as 'sa' so it doesn't seem to be permissions either.

Hi Simon, are you able to try this on a different computer?  Just trying to rule out an installation issue...past this, I am out of ideas, sorry.  Maybe someone else has seen this before and will post a reply...  If not, might be time to talk to GP Support on this one.

    Hi Jeanenne

Yes id did get it sorted out. What sorted it out for me was to clear the SY07240 table in the dynamics database. When i asked why, this was the reasoning that i got.

The SY07240 table holds all of the items (action buttons, modify, edit, etc) for all of the lists.  When we select a list, it loops through the items in the table and builds the menu.

Before it does this, it checks to see if there are any items in the list.  If not, then it rebuilds the table according to the newest code.  If there is even 1 item, then it just uses that, so my guess is that during the update we didn’t add that new item into the list because it saw that this table was already populated.

I hope this fixes the problem for you too.
