Dimension Shortcut 3: Reporting in PowerBI

I'm trying to build a report in PowerBI to show the following columns:

  • Posting Date
  • G/L #
  • Cost Center (ShortcutDimension 3)
  • Amount
  • Budget amount

However, since it's not a global dimension and I do not plan on changing it, what's the best method for me to extract this data?

What are my options? Are the limited?

Thank you.

Either find the Dimension SET ID, and then from the Dimensions Set Entry table find the CostCenter diemension value for this ID.

Another option would be to generate Analysis View - and then from the Analysis View Entries table get the needed information (or just use built in Analysis View/ Accounts Schedules/Financial Reports) to show the needed information. No need of any customizations in this case.
