Parent/Child Business Units

Posted on by 215

I have a user that needs access to 2 business units which I can grant by making them part of the parent business unit. But then they must assign the record to a specific business unit once created on all of their entries. Is there an easier way?

The only idea is have had is having a choice field where they select what Business Unit this will be assigned too and using either JS or Power Automate to update it on save.

You may consider using new Modernized Business Unit released this year

    learn.microsoft.com/.../modernize-business-units

    powerapps.microsoft.com/.../

    www.youtube.com/watch

In this new model Owning Business Unit record is identify which BU owns the record rather than the old model that was Owner.

Simply add the Owning Business Unit column to the form. Default will be filled as your current business unit but you can change to another business unit if you want to.

    Hope this help.
