How can I connect to GP from a server of a different workgroup

Hi,

I have created an eConnect program to push AR data from a custom application to GP. The problem is that I got this error: "Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication.Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication".

Both custom application and GP database reside in each own workgroup. I suspect this is because of the integrated security which is required for the connection. How in this case, can I configure it so that it can connect to GP? Can the connection be established on SQL Authentication instead?

    Jim,

    You can set up a SQL login for the Integration, then change your program to use SQL Authentication instead of Integrated.

    Thanks for your reply. May I know how to set up a SQL login for the integration? When you suggested changing the program to use SQL Authentication, did you refer to the connection string parameter in the eConnect_EntryPoint method?

    Jim,

    Create a login in SQL and add it to the company db in the DYNGRP role.

    I believe that is it.  I am not a developer, but do know that it will be in a connection string.
