Ms Dynamics CRM Licensing and SQL CAL's

 Hello All,

 Here is one scenario i'm facing and i need some help on this,

 We are planning for a Dynamics CRM implementation for our client with MS Dynamics CRM Enterprise Edition with 10 CAL's.

My Question is, do we need any CAL (Client Access Licenses) for MS SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition in-order for my user's to manipulate data from and to the SQL Server database through CRM ?.

If so, what is the need & how many CAL's for SQL Server is needed and based on what ?.

 Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated... Thanks..

    Hi Edwin,

    For your sql server you will need to license it in two one of two ways:

    -Per proc licensing. With this license model your sql server is licensed per physical processor and you do not need a per user cal.

    -Per user licensing.  With this license model your sql server is licensed per user connecting to sql server.  If you have 10 crm users you will need 10 sql cal users.
