Creating API using Power App Platform

Posted on by 459

Hi,

I have a requirement to create an API using the Power App Platform. The API can be called from other applications to pass values and return a calculated value.

Can you direct me on how it can be done?

Thank you,

Siva

The above is one way if you think Power Automate can handle your operations but there is a security risk with it.

The better way is to use Custom API. This is new concept through which basically you can create bound or unbounded methods which are quite easy to create with MDA. The benefit for this approach are:

    • Better ALM support. This custom API are created under solutions so it can be easily deployed to another environments
    • Wrapped around with D365 standard security roles.
    • Highly customizable and be used and call from different medium within D365 as well.

    Hi Siva,

You can use HTTP triggers in Power automate.
