Convert user name to user ID

Hello,

I need to get user ID but I have only user name for example (Adam Smith) and I must convert it to (smith.a). I couldn't find any solution how to do that.

I know how to get current user ID and name, but I don't have idea how to get user ID.

Please suggest what I need to do to convert user name for user ID.

select firstonly id from UserInfo where userInfo.name == "Adam Smith";

info(userInfo.id);

Do remember! it can cost you duplication of data.

System allows you to have more than one UserName same, UserId and Alias are unique.

So, reconsider your requirement with respect to Business Need
