Journal Batch Posting Force Approval

HI,

is there a way in Business Central to force the user to request the approval before posting the batch. ?

I have setup a workflow in business central for journal batches but if user does not request approval, it won't stop user from posting the batch.

    What is the setup in "Approval User Setup" page. Does the user has limitation there and approver?

    HI,

    the batch is a General Journal Batch.  in the 'approval user setup' page, i have set users.  even though I have setup a workflow for General Journal batch approval, user still can post batches even without asking approval. if user request for the approval, approval work flow triggers and user can't post the batch till approver approve it. but my requirement is to set by default all the General Journal batches should go through the approval workflow.  simply, no user should be able to post batches without a approval.

    You can approve General Journals, Cash Receipt Journals and Payment Journals. Recurring Journals and Payables Journals do not have the menu option to send for approval.

    Below is an example of a journal batch approval workflow, is our case we wanted ones created by a certain user to have to be approved by a manager and this was not the same as the workflow for purchase and sales documents.

    We started with the standard journal workflow that Microsoft includes.....

    Also, if you have workflow turned on for that type of batch, then the system will not let that 'type' of batch post without approval....

    Thank you Kim, yes, once I turned on the workflow for the batch type, it is forced for the approval.
