Business Central Training

Evening everyone,

Just curious, there are obviously a lot of companies/people using BC365.

We have been setting ours up ready to move from our current accounting/erp software.

We are about to go live, and while everyone has sort of "got to grips" with it.

I'm curious though - our MS Partner doesn't offer any training - so how does everyone else know how to use it properly ? Does your partner offer training, or like us did you watch a load of videos, webinars and use trial and error in a sandbox environment first ?

Cheers,
Gareth

Most partners offer training. It is unusual that yours does not.

Some partners offer a rapid implementation package where the training you describe is typical. Consultancy led training is offered by most partners but it comes at a higher cost

    Hi guys,

Appreciate the replies, but I have asked the question re training - it is a resounding no. It is not offered under any circumstances regardless of the price.

I suspect we will soon be hunting for a new partner in all honesty.

I can't remember who the videos were by, it was a different MS Partner who has uploaded them to youtube for free viewing, but I would have appreciated some form of training but hey ho... here we are...

    Cheers,

    Gareth

    Hi

This is my experience. Our partner provided training and also they have a support package that we pay monthly flat fee and we can ask any questions or request for any training as far as is under 2 hours per ticket. But I have learned more here and reading BC blogs or videos.

The below link is a great source of training.  Also, Microsoft Course can help as well. You can find lots of blog in the last link.

First, if your partner doesn't offer training, they shouldn't be selling Business Central.

Second, I agree with using the resources available to you, and the most structured is Microsoft Learn:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../

After you have gotten the basics down, your partner should be doing the training specific to your business process flow.  As long as you're willing to pay for training, you could reach out to New View Strategies.  They offer courses on almost any part of Business Central.  Their business is all about training end-users.

    MahGah,

You done it again - you've been very helpful the past few days lol - thanks again.

UsedDynamics was actually the site I was using, but I'm not done just yet with them, I'll definietly be checking out the others too - thanks :)

    Ben,

I understand your point, but I don't think that's an argument I want to start with them, I'll leave that between them and MS at this point.

Appreciate the link though, I'll check it out :)

    Thanks again folks,

    Gareth

    Gareth

You are welcome. This community helped me a lot.

Keep in mind Use Dynamic has a free of charge app that you can install in BC (if you are in SaaS version) and that adds all the video link to each page of BC that they have a video for it. See below

    Thanks

Yeah I'm getting that vibe already, I see some things are answered straight away, some maybe take some time, but I haven't seen anyone stuck yet - so I'm assuming I'll be getting a lot of help here too.

That is most definitely getting added in too - thanks for that, I wasn't aware.

    Gareth,

Depends on the Partner but most should offer some training or, at a minimum, give you links to recorded Microsoft Training. Here is my list though we do train our customers as well.
