Can not Update Read-Only( price per unit ) fields in Import from XML

Posted on by 450

Hi All Experts.
I export quote product as xml file to re-import.
I change the field "price per unit".
Price per unit is read-only in "existing product" mode and after re-importing, It does not not update.
I can change the quantity in re-importing( that is not read-only field) , and even can change price per unit in "write in" mode, But can not change the price per unit.
It give me successful in re-importing data, But does not update that record.
:-?
I am wrong?

Yes, I don't think so. I remember I was getting the similar behaviour using SDK/ Code which lead e to think this is some internal crm logic.

I Knew that, So there is no way to do this without changing filed from override price.

    Hi Albert,

It seems that read-only field can not be modified by importing data in Dynamics CRM 2011.

You can try the bellow steps:

    1. Change the field permissions to ‘read and write’.
    2. Export the quote product and change the data.
    3. Import your data and check if this field have updated successfully.

If it works, then you can change the field back to read-only.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards

    Leo

    Hi,

It seem Price Per Unit field can only be updated if yo set the Pricing field as "Override Price". So on you exported record, try changing the Pricing field as well.

    Hope this helps.
