Import Fixed Asset with error

Dear All,

I am sorry that I am new to Business Central. Hope someone could help me solve the problem.

As the company has quite a lot of fixed assets purchased before, so I would like to import the fixed assets by Excel table, with using Configuration Package. Originally, I use the object 5600 - Fixed Asset - to create the FA card. Then I am planning to use the object 5601 - FA Ledger Entry - for entering the /Acquisition cost/ & /Depreciation/ as the fixed assets' opening balance amount. However, error occurred and showed /TableData 5601 FA Ledger Entry Insert: Base Application/. It also reflected that I do not have the authority to take any action with the field /Dimension Set ID/. But of course I have not entered any data in /Dimension Set ID/. Will anyone know how to deal with it?

Or may I know the correct step for importing the post purchased fixed assets? I tried to follow below video with using 5621 Fixed Asset Journal, but it also failed. It will say the fixed assets could not be found and so that I have to create the FA card first.

Many thanks.

    Hi,

    Hope all is good.

For Fixed Assets Import, the related Fixed Asset Master data information must already be updated in Business Central. Please find below the information on the Master Data tables for Fixed Assets.
Secondly, please make sure that the related Depreciation Book is assigned on the Fixed Assets Card page.

Third: Please make sure that you have configured the FA Posting Type Setup and FA Journal Setup is configured correctly in the Depreciation Books

Lastly: For entering the /Acquisition cost/ & /Depreciation/ as the fixed assets' opening balance amount, please use Fixed Asset G/L Journal.

I hope this resolves all your concerns related to updating the Fixed Assets opening balances.

    Best Regards,
    Sheikh Muhammad Jawad

Hi, It is recommended that you operate it in a test company or environment first, such as the fixed assets procurement process.
Then, import the tables you'll need along the way.
This is how everyone learns in the beginning.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
