Upgrading Dynamics GP 2010 to Dynamics GP 2013R2 issue

Posted on by 245

Hi,

I've been asked to upgrade our current GP version (11.00.2044) to GP 2013R2 (12.00.1745)

Running Server 2012 and SQL 2012 Std.

The install went fine but when running GP Utilities it is failing to update our main Company, it states 'Company has errors from a previous update'

It is failing on 3 tables with the following errors:

Looking at the middle line it seems to be looking for I00101V instead of IV00101, which doesn't make sense to me.

Any help on these errors would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

    Hi Jonathan,

After checking the SQL Logs it was that the 3 tables were used for replication,

Thank you for you help as I would never have thought to check the SQL Logs.

Do the tables have the correct structure? These are not easy things to troubleshoot in a forum post Mark. If you want the best results open a support case so a engineer can get a Dexsql.log and script results.

If you want to go about this the slow way then check the Dexsql.log and see what the error is behind the scenes.

Just looked and they did not exist prior to the upgrade, ran the following:

    SELECT b.fileOSName, a.fileNumber, a.PRODID, a.Status, a.errornum, a.errordes, c.CMPANYID, c.INTERID

    FROM DYNAMICS.dbo.DU000030 a

    JOIN

    DYNAMICS.dbo.DU000010 b

    ON a.fileNumber = b.fileNumber

    AND a.PRODID = b.PRODID

    JOIN

    DYNAMICS.dbo.SY01500 c

    ON a.companyID = c.CMPANYID

    WHERE (a.Status <> 0 or a.errornum <> 0) and a.Status <>15

Also going through the Upgrade guide as well.

    Thanks

    Mark

Good idea Max. You don't want any records in the DU000030 table before you start an upgrade. Also make sure you go through the upgrade manual as well as the hot topic pages to make sure you are doing the necessary things to avoid known issues.

Can you check your backup of the system database to see if those records exist in DU000030 table before you started the upgrade?
