Business Portal - accessing from outside the Network

Beginning to role out our Business Portal installation to our staff, when on our network.

As we are heavily using it for HR functions, we have planned to make this available to staff from home, using Microsoft Forefront to present the site and secure it. (per the recomendation of Microsoft).

However, since Microsoft has made the decision to kill this product, we now need an alternative platform to use to extend the BP site to external users.

What are other's doing?

Any recommendations?

Kelly-

What I've done is put the BP server in the DMZ of the network, secured the site with an SSL certificate, and opened the ports it needs to access SQL per the BP Installation or Administration guide (can't remember which guide off the top of my head). It's the section about "Extranet Access".

This is secure and has worked well for us since BP version 3.
