GP Setup for Australia

I'm trying to configure a database for an Australian office. I came across an article # 910128 which discusses pathes for Auerr.cnk(interface change), A4.cnk(reporting on A4) and BAS_rpt.cnk(Australian Tax submission).

I'm wondering if these are applicable to GP10? Has anyone used them? Where do you get them? EFT for Australia?

Thanks,

    Hi Ross

I am the Escalation Engineer from the Asia Pacific Support team.  I was also the original developer of the BAS code and worked on the A4 project.

I suggest you look at the following page on the Developing for Dynamics GP blog as it has links to a number of Australian related Knowledge Base (KB) Articles I have written.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/developingfordynamicsgp/pages/general-links.aspx

When you select Australia as the country for your install, it will automatically add the BAS code to the install and add the option to select the A4 chunk.  By selecting Australia, it will also install the AUERR.CNK file.

For v9.0 and v10.0, due to the changes in the installation program, we recommend installing a separate Australian client for use with the Australian company on your system.  The old method of just adding the BAS chunk to a US install does not work properly anymore as the BAS code will not be updated in service packs.

It is possible to use VBA (using an supported method of calling Dexterity sanScript) to ensure that only the Australian client can log into the Australian Company and that the Australian client cannot be used to log into another company.

As for EFT modules, you would probably need to look at the following.  The Bank Management module (Cash Book) from Microsoft, or GP2Bank from Olympic in New Zealand or Electronic Banking from Professional Advantage.  You would need to explore the different options and see what works best for you.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks so much. This is what I had been told but no one was sure. Our reseller was suggesting also a seperate interface since we are using Citrix to support the remote clients.

I feel better about our choices.
