I have been exploring a lot in context to PowerPlatform and have gone through various Microsoft Docs and other blogs too.But I found almost similar content in all links/articles/blogs.

I am curious to know about  CDS and CDM how they work together

CDS :https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/common-data-service/data-platform-intro

CDM  :https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/common-data-model/

Both has standard set of entities , and ability to create custom entities. In addition CDM contains Metadata.

1) Is my understanding is correct? If not , How CDM is different? In CDM metadata is referred to what? How CDM is supporting CDS?

2) where can I see/access  CDS and CDM databases? If azure can I use same credentials as of powerplatform for azure and then see?

3) What about SQL database now in online CRM?

I have the same question (0)

    Hey Megha,

The Common Data Model (CDM) is the shared data language used by business and analytical applications. It consists of a set of a standardized, extensible data schemas published by Microsoft and our partners that enables consistency of data and its meaning across applications and business processes.

Check samples on this GitHub Project ::

CDM is influenced by data schemas that are present in Dynamics 365, covering a range of business areas. If you are using Dynamics 365, you are already using Common Data Model.

Common Data Model can be used by various applications and services including Common Data Service, Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Azure ensuring that all of your services can access the same data.

Whereas CDS is a service which is built on top of this CDM, shared data language which lets you securely store and manage data that's used by business applications.

Use SQL to query data (Preview) ::

A SQL data connection is available on the Common Data Service endpoint. The SQL connection provides read-only access to the entity data of the target Common Data Service environment.
