Cacthing a Cost posted event in GP

Hello,

I am a .NET programmer and have been assigned the task of implementing custom functionality within GP.  My programming collegue has recommended I use VS Tools for .NET, but he has been unable to give me any real specifics.  The tasks I need to perform are:

1) Catch an event indicating that a cost has just been posted (Regular, No Bill, or No charge).

2) Automatically create or add to a check batch with a specified naming convention.

Can anyone point me towards some events and functions in the .NET tools that would aide me in performing these tasks?

When POP Receipts are posted.  I know that GP does this by moving records from the POP10300, ..306, ..310, ..390 and maby other tables to the coresponding POP303xx  tables.

What kind(s) of cost events?  PO receipts?  Manufacturing Receipts?  Inventory Receipts?  AP postings?
