Hi everyone!

I am trying to set up Business Portal in a test virtual environment. I thought I had followed the steps closely. But when I ran InstallationPrerequisiteCheker.exe, I got an error and need some help.

The error occured when the checker was showing Verifying Web Server Requirement...

The error is Input string was not in a correct format.

I am desperately needing some help. Thanks!

Hi, might not be of much help, but I have come across this error when creating requisitions. It has to do with the PO next number field in GP - and its format compared to the format of the requisition in BP. There is a service pack which resolves this issue. However you are getting it even before you install BP. I would check the usual stuff  - .net framework installed, MS Office Sharepoint 07 or Win Sharepoint 3 installed etc.

Can you ignore the error and keep installing?

Thank you for your response. I tried to skip the checker and go straight to run CDSetup.exe, then I got WSS 3.0 must be installed. I know I have WSS up and running. I am running BP in a virtual enviroment.

I have also checked the components installation you mentioned.

    Thanks!

I found out later that BP didn't run on a 64-bit system. Thanks!

Thats right. I had the same problem when a client purchased a new 64 bit server without checking with us. BP is now installed on a windows server 2003 machine and the database is on the 64 bit server. Took a bit to get it installed and talking to the SQL 08 database. We had to fool the BP install into thinking it was talking to a SQL 05 (?) database to get it to install...but it works perfectly.

Did you manage to get it up and running on the 64 bit server or have you reverted to 32 bit?

    Thanks for using the newsgroups.

Business Portal is currently not compatible with any 64 bit OS.  It will be compatible with Windows 2008 Server X64 when GP 11 releases.

    Thanks

    Rob
