Quick find returns "Query Builder Error" for any search

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi there.

Our company just applied the Dynamics CRM 365 December update but hit the error "Query Builder Error" when we tried the quick find function.

Error details:-

Unhandled Exception: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[[Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OrganizationServiceFault, Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35]]: 'Account' entity doesn't contain attribute with Name = 'a_5e98d04200bb494ab231eadc8d4a94ec.businessunitid'.Detail:

</OrganizationServiceFault>

Before the update, we were on 2016 update 0.1, and the quick find was working fine.

Anyone has the solution or workaround for this problem?

Thanks.

    Hi Varadarajan

    Thanks for your recommendation. Microsoft confirmed this to be an issue and will be releasing a fix for this in around Q2.

    BTW, we are planning to perform a rollback to version 2016, however, we encounter error when we tried to import 365 version organization to 2016 version in deployment manager.

    Do you have any idea how can we perform a rollback to the previous version?

    Thank you.

    Hi Rong,

    I hope you have the the value No Selected for Enable Quick Find record limits under Settings/Administration/System Settings

    Also refer to this blog where many users have complained about getting "Query Builder Error" after their org got upgraded: community.dynamics.com/.../119212

    So, you should submit MS Support ticket and go through the server traces for the missing attribute which the Quick find query is referring to.
