Hi,
I follow the article below to create some custom business event:
https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/b/sertansdynamicsax/posts/how-to-integrate-d365fo-with-microsoft-flow-using-the-new-business-events-1325951463
However, I found that it seems the the BusinessEventsDataMember only support the primitive type, e.g. ItemID, TransDate etc. If I would like to use a complex data type, e.g. Container, or even Table, View, it just throw compilation errors.
Any idea?
Thanks,
Hi Yuji,
The business events are intended to let know something happened. Consider it as an alerting mechanism. Another application; e.g. Microsoft Power Automate can consume the message and act on it. Based on primary data, Power Automate (or other applications) should be possible to get additional details using Flow actions or other Odata calls (e.g. read table).
The purpose of business events is to have nimble messages; not a container, table or view.
Thanks André, can we use business event to send out a nimble message (e.g. PO number), then use the PO number to retrieve the PO lines and send to external system?
That is indeed the purpose of the business event. It is an event driven communication. Then from another place you can consume the event and start the actual data communication, if requiered.
