Do we need to use Prenotes for EFT for Payables GP 10?

We are in the process of setting up EFT for payables with Royal Bank of Canada and they have indicated that they don't require the use of prenotes.  I noticed on another posting however that someone had indicated that "GP will not generate EFT transacations if you don't run Prenotes after setting up your EFT vendors".  Now I am confused as to whether or not I need to use prenotes.  Does anyone know?  Thank you.

You don't need to use the prenotes functionality - there is a setting in the Bank EFT set up window - 'Prenotes Required'...turn this off and you don't have to run the prenotes.

However, its irrelevant really - you could just run the prenotes when you add a Vendor and then they will be live. I have some clients who use this task as a way of finally validating adding the Vendor as a live EFT Vendor.

    Best regads,

    Ian.
