Getting transaction information and comment fields out on reports or inquiries

Hi

I am attempting to map information for an integration into Business Central.  Part of the process is checking that I can get the information out the other end.

In the General Journal, you can enter information in the following two fields:

- Transaction_Information

- Comment

That is great as there is text information that I want to store.

However, I cannot see a way to get that information out from an inquiry.  I have tried:

- Web services G/L Entries OData query

- Transaction Detail Report (tried to modify, the fields do not appear to be in the dataset)

- General Ledger Entries window (fields are not available in the Personalize option)

Anyone know how I can include them?  It seems crazy to me that these are available as data entry fields but that I can't easily find the information after wards.  So I must be missing something simple.

Cheers

Heather

I got access to an on premise dev environment today.  Discovered that the information entered in these fields goes nowhere - it is not held after posting.

Found this post on the idea page:  https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=25e44d13-120b-ea11-b862-0003ff68edfa

Would appreciate some votes against it.  Crazy to me that you have fields available in data entry that you can't access after posting.

Thank you for sharing this idea and asking more people to vote so we can prioritize.

This is ridiculous that Business Central has design something that doesn't work.

Is there anywhere we can store the additional transaction information for legacy data migration other than "Transaction Information" and "Comment" field in General Journal screen? Current legacy data transaction information has more than 100 characters.
