Operation dependent production pick lists

Hi all,

Currently trying to process a production order operation by operation (Start Operation 10 to 10, then once finished start operation 20 to 30 for example)..

I was hoping that as I went through the production order the pick list would also be sequentially released, e.g. Starting operation 10 to bring about a pick list for BOM components tied to operation 10 first, then upon starting operation 20, tied BOM components generated in a new pick list journal.. and so forth.

However I only seem to be able to get the pick list to work like this for the first operation and no pick list generated when I start later operations.

I've tied the BOM components to the route and i've got all raw materials flushing principles set to start on the BOM, is there something i'm missing during the process?

Thanks

    Hi Tom,

Have you checked you're entering a quantity every time you are starting an operation?

It only defaults in for the first operation and will only produce a picklist if you've said the quantity is greater than 0.

    Thanks for the reply Colby,

    1) I was previously starting the process from the works order and selection the Operation from and to fields to specify operation, I've now by your advice started them from the Current Operations and i'm still getting the same picking issue.

    2) My parameters are set to 'Flushing principle' as default

Anything else I could be missing?

Sounds like you have the BOM to Route relationship and flushing principles set correctly.

    A few queations:

1.)How are you starting the order, from the order directly?  If so that starts all operations, and you'd be getting one picklist with all components on it that flush at start. You'll note the From Operation and To Operation boxes are blank when Start is called from the order or the all production orders list page.

2.)What are your flushing parameters set to when you are doing your start? It should be flushing principle and not Always.

Try releasing your order, then starting operation 10 in the Current Operations list page.  Then finish Op 10 and start Op 20, etc. This form is same as starting from the order directly, but it passes only the operation you select on Current Operations to the From and To boxes.
