CRM 2015 - Product Bundles

Hello,

My company is relatively new to CRM, a little under a year, and we just updated to CRM 2015 (Online). Here is the question I have that maybe someone could answer for me. I will explain it in detail.

We previously used Product Kits and they are good in that our salespeople could add a "Standard Server" to a quote and they don't need to mess around with the parts like RAM, Hard Drives, etc. They are also good because when we give a quote to a client they don't "shop our parts" for better prices. Basically the line items are hidden. However the biggest issue is that if we need to add more RAM to a "Standard Server" you cannot change the quantities on the fly when generating a quote.

I am now looking into using Product Bundles as they have some features that we like. Namely the ability to have some parts optional and the ability to change quantities. However now when we generate a quote, each parts in the bundle is listed out. Is there a way that I can hide the line items and only show the name and description of the Product Bundle on our quotes?

Thank you for any help you could offer.

Ryan

    Hi RyanE.

To answer your question, there are two possibilities

    1. Make the Product in the Product Bundle NOT  as required product then you can remove it from your Quote...

There is a setting in the Product Bundle Products right, make them as not required, then you can remove it from your Quote, but yes, you need to remove it manually.

    2. If you only want to see the Product Bundle, basically, the concept of Product Bundle is letting the users to see each individual product in the Quote, if you don't wish that feature, either you remove one by one like I mentioned in number#1 or instead of using Product Bundle, you can change it to Kit.

This one is how to differentiate between Kit and Bundle, Bundle will list all the products by default, while Kit only lists the Kit itself.

Hope this makes things clearer and helps you.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your response, but this is not what I am looking for. I will continue to look for other solutions.

A tip on the Info Aileen gave...

    1. Make the Product in the Product Bundle NOT  as required product then you can remove it from your Quote...

if you do this do not give a price for Bundle (in a Pricelist) because bundle price and the product within the bundle will be added together for the cost.

    Hope that made sense.

    Thanks for the tip!

For now I will continue to use Product kits. The main issue is that I don't like that you can't change quantities and have optional parts. Ideally I would like the following, but it doesn't look to be possible.

In the example below I have listed a Product Bundle I would like to make. The reason this is good is I can sell this to a client and make changes based on their requirements. Some I will quote with 16GB RAM, some might have Server 2012 STD, some might have Essentials. Having all possible parts in a Product Bundle is what would be preferred since you can't do this in a kit. However, when we quote this out and there are charges for each line item, we commonly have clients question each line item. So we would prefer that it just says "Standard Server" and all the items below would be hidden, or at the very least the prices of each line item.

    Example:

    Standard Server

    HP ML150 qty 1

    500GB Hard Drive qty 4

    1TB Hard Drive qty 0

    8GB RAM qty 4

    4GB RAM qty 0

    Server 2012 STD qty 1

    Server 2012 Essentials qty 0

Does what I am looking to do make sense?

I am going with the similar issue. Here i wish to change the QTY and some custom field on the fly instead to be set into the product bundle master. When i attach the bundle product to the quote i can see the products incurred into the bundle but i can't edit the QTY or any custom field on fly. How can i edit the same on fly, please revert if anyone have the perfect solution to it.
