Hi
I'm new in BC.
I have some doubts about licensing for New Customers, after next year, and some questions about tech issues.
License for New Customers:
We have a customer that belong to a Group. He wants to create a new instance for NAV, for a new organization in the group. He has NAV 2017. He wants to buy a new license in 2019 for NAV platform. Do he has to buy a new BC license? Is that true that MSFT is not going to go ahead with new versions after 2018 ? And that license means what? BC licence will be bought just like 2018 today, or there are differences? What he wants is On Premise for his own servers, just like he has now for 2017. Can you give me an idea about this ? By the way, what about prices, where we can find prices for BC? And also we heard that MSFT make big discounts for the customers that choose to change to BC - is that true ?
Tech Issues:
If the customer buy a BC licence for On Premise, what that means regarding C/SIDE? Is this tech not available anymore for BC or do we still have in BC access to C/SIDE to make customizations? If C/SIDE is not available anymore, how can we make customizations for standard area, when we make migrations from 2017 to BC, like when we have to change fields properties or/and make a lot of changes for many triggers on standard area of Dynamics ? It's impossible to make all these kind of changes using only extensions….; or there is a way we don't know ? And I'm not talking about localizations, I'm talking about to include many of customer customizations that are now in 2017.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Hi Fernando,
According to Partner R.U.N Day that was conducted here in PH.
After 2018, if you have a new customer, you can only buy a Dynamics 365 Business Central On-Prem license.
You can directly go to your PartnerSource account for the prices or contact your local Microsoft folks.
So, if they are paying for BREP they can have a discount on buying BC's subscription licenses (50%++)
