Disable a view's record link

I'd like to be able to prevent a user from clicking on a record link in a view. So, for example -- If a view shows the "Regarding" field on an activity, I'd like to disable the ability to click on that "Regarding" record. Hopefully that makes sense. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

I don't think you can disable those clicks. There could be at least two other options:

- If you don't want those users to see the records at all, re-configure your security roles

- If you don't want them to be able to click on the links (if they get confused etc), update the views and remove lookup fields from the views - instead, display "name" fields from the referenced entities (although, in your example with regarding that might not work quite that well.. you'll have to have a column per type of regarding)

Hello,

AFAIK there is no supported way to do that. This is how CRM works OOB.

A workaround I have used is to remove the "Regarding" column and replace it with Name field of the related "Regarding" record. This prevents the column from being a link to the Regarding record in the view.
