The main account does not exist

Hello,

when I create "General journal" with "Account type" = "Customer" and chose a customer it gives me warning message "The main account "" does not exist".

It is happening for several customer accounts.

What and where exactly should I check?

    You or your developers could put a breakpoint in AOT > Classes > Info > add method, and see in the debugger that where does the message come from in the call stack. 99% of the times it will reveal what is missing. Please do not use breakpoints in a Production system.

    There is a specific setup, but we can only do wild guesses, since all AX environments' setup are unique. I am sure someone with more financials knowledge will try to do those guesses at some point.

    However, I gave you the ultimate answer on how to typically find such problems and you should be consulting your developers to find it, that is the fastest way.

    Hello Joni,

    Can you check your AR posting profiles and check whether a summary account for your customer has been Setup there? If so, is this account locked / inactive in your COA?

    Hi,

    On top of what Ludwig suggested, can you also check if the account number specified in AR posting profile is available in COA structure and all COA structures are active.

    Hello 

    I am facing the same issue all the accounts appear on the main account and what is in the GL on the Excel matches  main detail from general ledger - main accounts. So not sure what the solution is?

    Please make sure the main account is in account structure and activated .

    Hi Ramit

    It is in the account structure and it is activated that was the first triage. Once I upload the file using CSV it still gives me this error!

    what seems to be the issue?

    Few questions-

    Is this MA can be used while creating manual entry in GL?

    your csv file is working with other MA or only this MA is giving error?
