MRP question and planned purchase orders

Hi,

I am trying to start using MRP in AX 2012 and finding it is a steep learning curve.

I have configured some of our raw materials (Minimum stock levels, lead times, order quantities etc...) and when I run the Master Plan it does work but one of the things I do not understand it that it appears to ignore any open purchase orders we already have for a raw material and still propose a planned purchase order.

I assume this is something I have not setup correctly but I cannot find what I have done wrong.
In the screenshot below we have 351kg of stock and two production batches scheduled which will consume 67.43kg of stock. There is a purchase order already in the system but it has created a planned PO for 200kg and appears to be ignoring the purchase order that exists.

Can I configure an item so it considers existing PO's when updating the net requirements?
