Running a Power Automate on Order to Order Line and saving Order Line

Hi Everyone,

We are trying to create a flow to set a field on Order Line from Order.  The flow is currently working to set the field, however, we need to go into each Order Line to save the record so that the values roll up to the Order.  Is there a way in Power Automate to force save on the Order Line once a field has been updated?

Another solution we are experimenting with is a JavaScript on the Order Line form.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Wil

    Hi partner,

"we need to go into each Order Line to save the record so that the values roll up to the Order." - Could you please elaborate on it?

When fields are updated via flow, the Order Line will be saved, we don't need to open the Order Line record and save manually again.

So do you have some customization in Order Line and Order?

    Hi Hao,

We have a % field on the order which we need to write to the associated Order Line child records.  Our Power Automate flow has successfully mapped the value to the field on the server-side but it doesn't display on the form.  Every time we open a child Order Line record it saves the record and then displays the value on the form.  This then allows us to see this value on the Order Line sub grid which is on the Order form.  We are looking for a bulk way to set the value on the form.

    Thanks for the help,

    Wil

    Hi partner,

This is because flow is asynchronous and it has delays.

When you update the Order record, the power automate will be triggered after about 5 to 10 seconds, and its running time is about 5 seconds. So you will feel a delay of about 15 to 20 seconds before the Order Line is updated by the flow.

However, you don't have to save to see the latest Order Line records. After the flow runs successfully, refresh the Order Line and Order records, and you should be able to see the latest values.

If your situation is different from what I described, please let me know.

    Hi Hao,

Our flow is a batch flow to take the Order % value and populate it on the Order Line % field.  This works on the server-side.  When we go to an Order in the sub grid the fields are null.  However, when we run a report, we can see the values have been populated.  If we open the Order Line and save the record then the values will appear in the sub grid on the Order.  For additional context, we have also have a calculated field on the Order Line which is driven off the % field which is copied from Order to Order line.

I think we need a JavaScript on the Order Line to force refresh and save after the % field has been populated and then this would trigger the calculated field.  Which would then display the values in our sub grid on Order.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Wil
