Insufficient rights for user john.doe

My issue is with creating an intercompany alert for a user outside of my business unit. Anyone have any idea what rights I need to assign to this user in order for this to work without going overboard.

    Hello Hans C.,

    What does outside of my business unit mean?

    Is this a user that is not setup as an AX2012 user or a user that does not have access to the legal entity where the alert is triggered?

    We have multiple business units/sites that share one AX - this is what I meant by outside of my business unit. This individual is a user within AX but from a different site which after looking at the roles I've already started narrowing down the rights that will allow this to happen. ( I realize now, its a rights issue not necessarily a BU/site vs BU/site issue)

    What I find strange is by adding the accountant role in a test environment I can then create the alert without the error. So I will now work my way through the duties and security privileges to figure out what specifically is allowing it to happen.

    The "duty" "Inquire into Customer Master" allows for this to happen without error. Not sure if this is the same across AX.
