How to change the status of a Meeting from Open to Scheduled?

Hi,

Can someone tell me what the difference is between "Open" and "Scheduled" status of activities/appointments in CRM?  I'm a bit puzzled about what the functional difference is - and if there are any system operations that will change this status. All my meeting activities always defaults to the Scheduled status but there is this one meeting which is sitting with an Open status and I dont know how to change it :(

When you create an appointment in CRM, the status is by default 'scheduled' - this means that it will show as a conflicting appointment when booking other appointments. If this appointment is marked as 'tentative' in Outlook then it will be changed to 'Open' and will not prevent other appointments from being booked at this time.

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

    Hi,

With "open" meeting your calendar is not blocked, however if meeting is "scheduled" you will get conflict if you try to schedule another meeting at that time.

Actually in my environment (9.1.0.7028 online), some of the Appointments directly goes into Open status after it is created.

Hi all I am having a similar issue:

I have an appointment created directly from the activities entity. When saved, the status is set to scheduled which blocks the time on the corresponding owner's Outlook (status in Outlook: Busy):

However, when I create and save an appointment from an account (timeline), the status on D365 is set to Open while the corresponding status on Outlook is Free:

Is there any particular reason why appointments created from an account are not synchronizing the status? And is there a way to possibly solve this issue?

    Thanks in advance!
