Automatic Document Library creation with CRM Online and SharePoint Online

Hi Everyone,

I need to automatically create document locations and subfolders for each entity in CRM Online on SharePoint Online, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good way to do this?  We have created a workflow in CRM and it works great on the CRM side but we can’t get it to create the folders on the SharePoint side.  We would prefer our employees not have to go to every account in the CRM system and manually create the file structure for each and every account (as well as other entities) so I was hoping someone had more experience with this in the ways of bulk creating document libraries.  Also, I’d love your opinion on using SharePoint as a Document Management system (the good, the bad, and the ugly) for CRM Entity documents.  We are not 100% sold on using SharePoint to house our documents but we would also need a way to automate the folder creation on a file share if that is the consensus.

Thanks for the help!

Stephanie

    Hi Stephanie,

I think this link may help you:

SharePoint and CRM Online integration is a good way to manage your files, but it is important to check the requirements and know how the integration works before integrating. Please check the link below about important considerations for server-based integration:

    Hi,

There is no out of the box way to create the associated SharePoint folder automatically when a record is created in your crm system.
We have a functionality in our DocumentsCorePack which can do that for you. It can create the SharePoint location and if you want also some subfolders if necessary.

If you are interested in a 3rd Party tool, please take a look at www.mscrm-addons.com
