Country drop-down/look-up list

I need to create a country field as a drop-down list or as a look-up field.

Should i insert all the countries by typing? Or there is a standard list for that?

And after creating that drop-down list with all inserted countries i need to copy it to another entities like contact, account, opportunities.

Thank you Yu Tian for your answer, but creating a custom entity to the "country" is easier for me since i'm new to the CRM.

    HI Shahid,

By Import, I was refrerring to the same thing what Mr Anees Faizal mentioned. To create a separate entity and add lookup/use it  on form

    Thanks

Please refer below link about how to import dropdown list value with out of box import function.

    www.powerobjects.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-importing-values-into-an-option-set

    One thing need to notcie:

If you decide to use this function to add the dropdown list value, you have to add dropdown field in each entity like contact, account. You can not use global option set because the out of box import is not able to update the options of global option set.

    Hi Shahd,

For dropdown field values, I dont think you can import record from excel.

We only can import records from excel to create/update record in entity.

    Steps:

    1. Create Custom entity called "Country"

    2. In the Country entity, use the default Name field to capture the country name.

    3. In the parent entity, create new lookup field (E.G: "Country Name") to the custom "Country" entity.

Now you have the country list in "Country" entity.

You will have the country list in the Lookup field in the parent entity.

Using Import Data via excel, add all the country names into the "Country" entity.

    Hi Shahd,

You cant import excel to add value in dropdown. You would need to manually add the country name.

On the other hand, You can create a custom entity as "Country Name". Then add list of country using excel import.

Then, create a lookup field in your parent entity to the "Country Name" entity.

There is no short cut way of doing this.

easiest way is you need to import country from standard excel. (you can get country list via google)

Please see if this link helps
