Set packing slip report design from code

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi guys,

I have an issue. There is a default delivery note report and I need to make another one, kind of similar, so I created another design. Somehow always the default design is rendered, no matter which menu item is used to call it. The condition based on menuItem name is good, I debugged it. It always renders SalesPackingSlip, Report design, not ASCReportInvoice. I have cleared all caches, deployed the reports, ran CIL. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

These reports use print management - my guess is that your code runs before the report design is set according to the configuration in print management, therefore whatever you set there gets overwritten later.

Have a look at PrintMgmtDocType class, where print management designs could be overridden.

Then in the Print management settings for your report a specific design could be selected both on the general module parameters, or per customer.

Also in the Report deployment settings you could pick specific, static designs in the System administration module.

That would explain a lot. Do you happen to know where I could find it to check?

I have found this class, but normally code is not even entered, so it doesn't make difference. In this form setup as I see I can change the default report design, but I need it to be changed dynamically. So it still prints the same design :/

It seems that you still have some question, although the thread already has verified answers, but I'm not sure what the question is.

If you want to know where the design name is set in standard AX (and you can't find it), I assume it's in FormLetterReport.loadPrintSettings().
