Version conflict after restore-upgrade

We are experiencing some version conflict in our Dynamics CRM environment, and after trying to upgrade organizations from 8.1.0.359 to 8.1.1.1005 our organizations says the following:

13_2D00_09_2D00_2017-15_2D00_10_2D00_19.jpg

Before the upgrade it said version 8.1.0.359 in Deployment Manager on all organizations, and after applying the update they all say 8.1.1.1005.

If I go to properties on the Deployment Manager it says Deployment Version 8.1.0.359

Under Control Panel on the server it says: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Server Version 8.2.0000.0749

The thing is that a while ago we updated the whole environment from 8.1.0.359 to 8.2.0.749 but we had to restore all MSCRM databases back to 8.1.0.359, that is why the server still is in version 8.2.0000.0749.

Is there any way to get the organizations up to version 8.1.1.1005 on both DB and CRM? Reference the screenshot above.

Why does the organizations now have different versions under Help - About? Why did it not update both to 8.1.1.1005?

    Hello,

First point : OnPremise or Online ?

Do you experience issue regarding functionalities on the CRM organization since you figured out the version difference ?

From my personal experience (Online) it's not an issue if your application doesn't have the same version as the DB. As long as the 2 have the same Major / Minor version, it's alright. Microsoft does some DB upgrade on their side while the application version is not upgraded but it doesn't create issues regarding the User Experience.

I don't know if it helps but at least you have my point of view :).

It looks like you are running OnPrem - did you restore the MSCRM_Config database when you did your restore?

This database shouldn't ever be restored after an update.

If you did restore the MSCRM_Config - you may need to reinstall your crm server and then re-import the org datbases using Deployment Manager.

    On-premise.

CRM is working as normal. There is though a fix in version 8.1.1.1005 that we have tested in our test environment and it worked after applying this version. This fix is not working on the production environment, so I guess that has something to do with the version differences.

It is OnPrem yes. I did not restore the MSCRM_Config database.
